Zynga’s Adventure World Details: Trailer Analysis

I am sure that you have already seen the Adventure World trailer posted by Zynga on YouTube (which, by the way, was pretty soon withdrawn and only IGN’s version remained) and if you didn’t, you should not worry too much: you can, in the first place, check it out by clicking the previous link and also read on this article for more Adventure World details from this trailer analysis.

Of course, being a teaser trailer, I was not able to draw in too much information about Adventure World, but there were still there some pretty interesting details that I am happy to share with you. Let’s start with the first Adventure World screenshot analysis, an image that shows us actually more areas in the upcoming game. Check it out below:
First of all, we can see that the graphics are indeed very detailed and diverse and if we are to say that Adventure World looks a lot like Zynga’s any other game, that would be Treasure Isle (by the way, is anybody still playing that?). Also, we can understand that the map is basically divided into a lot of squares and it is very important where we set foot: a wrong move could trigger a trap and hurt us. We can see also that there are many areas that we can’t apparently reach and that’s where the puzzles come into play!
Let’s get to the second image now:
This one has the main purpose to show us how traps work: the in-game character moves to draw the snake after her (really seems like a lady to me) and the trap is triggered while the snake goes to meet its maker. Pretty nice!
Probably the third picture has the most details for us:
As you can see, we are shown how neighbor interacting will be done in the game and from the screenshot we can see that friends will be able to actually (as in physically) help us complete the puzzles, even though asynchronously: they can move objects, trigger different traps and stand on specific tiles that should help us solve puzzles (as seen in the upper right corner of the image above). Very interesting!
The fourth image shows us the fighting part in Adventure World:
As you can see, we can use our own weapons – the Whip in this case – to fight against creatures and clear the way. However, early info we got about the game tells us that fighting against animals consumes more energy than finding a different way would.
And finally, the fifth image:
Here we are shown that sometimes, when things block our way, there’s only one thing to do: blow them apart and carry on with our quest.
So all in all I think that we can all agree that things are looking pretty nice in Adventure World, right?
